Accredited as efficient by the ISJC in 1994 and underwent a succesful one day Ofsted visit June 1995.
Founded in 1925 and situated in Mill Hill village on the edge of the Green Belt, but easily reached from North and North West London by the Northern Line at Mill Hill East, 240 and 221 buses and British Rail at Mill Hill Broadway.
The school offers a wide range of GCSE and 'A' level subjects in a caring and supportive environment. The classes are small giving maximum opportunity for individual attention. Entrance is normally by interview at 5/6, examination and interview at 7+, 11+ and 13+ and also at VIth form level by interview. Places are sometimes available at other age groups. The school has good facilities for Art, CDT, Music, Theatre Studies, Business Studies and a variety of sports. Three modern languages are offered and the school has a strong science tradition - a new Science Laboratory block was completed in January 1994. The use of Information technology is an integral part of the curriculum and a new suite of networked PCs with CD Roms have recently been installed for use by all departments. Career guidance is delivered by our own Careers Officer and ongoing support is given by the London Borough of Barnet's Careers service, together with powerful CD programmes. A Personal and Social Education programme is provided to every age group and covers all aspects of everyday life. The school grounds consist of five acres within the Green Belt which are attractively arranged with tennis and netball courts, a hockey pitch and a gymnasium containing a badminton court.
Good use is made of opportunities offered to London theatres and art galleries and school journeys are arranged at home and abroad.
